This tour is dedicated to one of Madeira’s paradises: the gardens! The first stop is the tropical garden of the Monte Palace, which impresses with its beauty, its cultural diversity and the traces of Portuguese history since the reign of D. Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal. Monte Palace Madeira occupies an area of 70,000 square meters and houses a huge collection of exotic plants from all over the world, along with swans and ducks that populate the central lake, peacocks and chickens that roam freely in the main areas of the estate. The tour ends in the botanical garden, founded in 1960 by a Madeiran botanist. Here we find more than 2500 species of plants from different parts of the world, all united in the Garden of the Atlantic!
