The São Vicente caves were formed during a volcanic eruption 890 years ago in Paul da Serra, which reached down to the sea. Inside, there are many gasses and a series of lava passages that lead to the São Vicente caves, which can be walked through. These eight “volcanic tunnels” have a total length of more than 1000 meters.
