The walk to the Caldeirao Verde begins in Queimadas northeast side of Madeira island. Wonderful location in the virgin Laurel rainforest and classified as Heritage World Patrimony. The path starts at this amazing natural park. Following the watercourse (Levada) which is flat, we cross 4 little tunnels. Getting closer to Caldeirao Verde the path is a bit more narrow but with protection rails. The Levada offers fantastic views and is surrounded by wild forests. In the green cauldron, we do our picnic break and admire the superb waterfall in the crater. Then we make our way back enjoying this close contact with nature.
